Women’s Ministries is a wonderful mixture of fellowship, local missions work, foreign missions work, Bible study and church support. This group meets on the 2nd Thursday of the each month. Each month, a different member hosts the meeting. The hostess can choose to have the meeting at their home or in the Family Life Center kitchen at the church. They begin their meetings with the business sessions while they enjoy snacks provided by the hostess. The organization does many fundraisers throughout the year: Cookie Dough sale in the fall to get ready for the holidays, a drink booth at the Community Trunk or Treat, greeting cards and the coke machine are also taken care of by the Women’s Ministries. They have other fundraisers they do as well. They send monthly monetary support to foreign missionaries and a little girl at the General Baptist Orphanage, Faith Home, in Honduras. They purchase needed items for the church and enjoy the fellowship of each others company. After they are finished with the business, they learn about missionaries that are serving for the General Baptist Denomination and collect a Love Gift offering which is sent to headquarters every quarter. Next, they begin a time of study. Each year the group picks the book they will use for their study time. This is an open discussion time for everyone to be involved in if they choose.
